I am currently taking an online training course this semester in teaching online from the Department of Education Hawaii. My current project was to create a lesson plan for an online marketing and technology course, which can be viewed on VoiceThread. The lesson had to meet the state standard and benchmarks while addressing and meeting 21st Century technology requirements. The topic of the lesson I chose was advertising to consumers in China.

I learned a lot from planning this lesson and can’t wait to begin teaching the online class. For my lesson plan, I used VoiceThread to present the outline of the lesson and explain the goals. For my lesson, students use Glogster to create collages as advertisements after learning about their target market and marketing principals in China. Many schools cannot afford to have a business teacher and lack the structure for business courses. I believe elective courses, such as business courses, will grow and become popular e-classes among students. I hope to continue developing curriculum and courses for schools in an effort to expand 21st century learning via technology.
