While teaching at an international school in Thailand, I enjoyed coaching varsity basketball and volleyball. The athletic program was really developing under the new athletic director and I proposed the idea of making an athletics website to continue the momentum. I created the site in Joomla that was easily accessible to coaches and they could login and post results, rosters, schedules, and pictures in a user friendly environment.

The site became very popular among the student body and was flooded with hits each day. Later, I integrated the yearbook class into taking on responsibilities like photography games and interviewing coaches to post on the site. The poll was always a popular topic as students voted on athletic topics like most challenging coach, hardest opponent, and best jerseys. However, most importantly, the players were taking more pride in their team because they knew their friends and family would be viewing the athletics website on a regular basis. Many student alumni visited the site in order to stay connected to the school and students. The headmaster, principal, and parents expressed their gratefulness for the site and it was well worth my volunteered efforts.
